Music Box
Configuration and Design Time Control File
The following list describes the input for the boids.ini configuration file, included in the Music Box installation directory. This file changes the run time behavior of the simulation and allows the designer to effect the character of the sounds and sights generated.
The numbers to the left represent “good” configuration settings.
- 100 Total number of entities
- 10 Separation: How much the notes stay away from each other(distance factor)
- 100 Cohesion: How much the notes steer towards each other's center of mass
- 100 Alignment: How much the notes steer toward each other's goal
- 20 Bounds: How much the notes try to stay within the prescribed bounds
- 5 Move toward: How much the notes attempt to move toward the specific goal (intelligence)
